alarm at 4575 Road 126. Upon arrival on the scene smoke was coming
from both garage doors and the owner advised of a fire in the
basement by the furnace. Firefighters made entry into the basement.
Progress was very slow due to the heat, steam and smoky conditions
of the basement. A window was removed in the basement and a positive
pressure ventilation fan was placed in the stairway to help vent
the heat and smoke from the basement. As firefighters searched
for the fire in the basement, other firefighters searched for
extension on the first floor. As firefighters tried to enter
the master bedroom, they noticed that the floor was sagging and
that it was very spongy. This indicated the fire was directly
under the area the firefighters were in. Firefighters moved their
search to the far back of the house to locate access to the fire.
In the back room where the hot tub was located, fire was coming
up through the floor. The floor was torn up and a fire stream
was placed into the hole. With a vent hole in the ceiling of
the basement, firefighters were then able to reach the fire area
in the basement. The fire was extinguished at 6:47 am when all
units returned to quarters. All members left the station at 8:00
am after cleaning equipment and getting everything ready for
the next response. The cause of the fire is still under investigation
and a loss is yet to be determined. A sincere "Thank You"

man power.
