09-128 Saturday May 2nd at 4:17 pm Rescue 11 was dispatched MA with Station 39 for a reported semi fire at mm 148 I-71. Units drove to the 143 mm finding nothing an cancelled returning to quarters at 5:00 pm.

09-129 Saturday May 2nd at 5:46 pm Rescue 11 responded to a reported odor at 22 West High Street, the Capital Theatre. Firefighters investigated the odor and could not find anything in the building but the odor in the lobby. Firefighters checked the block finding the odor at the storm drop on the North West Corner of the main square. Firefighters dumped 2000 gallons of water down the storm in an attempt to flush out the odor. It wasn’t until the next day that the odor dissipated. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 8:00 pm.

09-130 Sunday May 3rd at 11:21 am Tanker 14 responded MA with Station 29 for a barn fire at 2753 Road 136. Tanker 14 arrived on the scene at 11:39 am and was released at 11:55 am returning to quarters at 12:20 pm.

09-131 Sunday May 3rd at 1:18 pm Rescue 11 responded to an MVC at 253 West Marion Street for a car into a pole. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 1:22 pm and assisted EMS with removing the patient form the vehicle. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 2:00 pm.

09-132 Sunday May 3rd at 7:13 pm Brush 12 responded to 750 Grant Street for a reported campfire. Brush 12 arrived on the scene at 7:25 pm extinguishing the fire. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 7:39 pm. It needs to be noted that the WODA housing development has restrictions on open burning. They do not allow any type on open burning on their property. This is why the fire had to be extinguished and no burn permits can be allowed.

09-133 Monday May 4th at 12:47 pm Station 29, 19 and 39 were dispatched to 121 Nichols Street in Cardington for a fire alarm at the elementary school. Before any equipment could respond the school called and advised that there was no problem.

09-134 Monday May 4th at 3:50 PM Brush 12 responded to the area of 140 North Vine Street for a report of an illegal burn. Brush 12 toured the area and did not find a burning fire. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 4:11 pm.

09-135 Monday May 4th at 6:31 pm Station 19 was dispatched to an MVC at 4267 State Route 61 South involving a single vehicle rollover. Rescue 11 responded at 6:35 pm, arriving on the scene at 6:41 pm. Checked out the vehicle and Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 6:55 pm. Assistant Chief 103 and Captain 105 responded direct to the scene approximately 1 mile south of their residence arriving at 6:35 pm. Firefighter 19-14 was also in the area and on the scene at 6: 33 pm.

09-136 Tuesday May 5th at 11:26 pm Station 29, Station 19 and Station 39 were dispatched to a working garage fire at 308 East High Street in Fulton. Station 19 was dispatched for Tanker 14 and Engine 15 for RIT. Station 39 was dispatched for Tanker 34 and 36. The fire was declared under control at 11:55 pm. Tanker 14 returned to quarters at 12:23 am. Engine 15 was cancelled at 11:33 pm since the structure was down. No RIT team would be needed.

09-137 Saturday May 9th at 5:33 am Station 19 was dispatched MA with Squad 1 for a non-responsive at Woodside Village. Three firefighters responded at 5:35 am arriving at 05:38 am and left the scene at 6:09 am. One firefighter drove the squad to MCH.

09-138 Tuesday May 12th at 10:19 am Rescue 11 responded non-emergency to road 101 for a reported illegal fire. The material being burned was not illegal and the owner was made aware of the burning regulations during the months of March, April, May, October and November where burning is not permitted between the hours of 6:00am to 6:00 pm. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 11:36 am.

09-139 Tuesday May 12th at 6:46 pm Station 19 was dispatched to a reported illegal burn at 5855 St Rt 61 North. Upon arrival it was determined that the owner had not set the fire and that someone had intentionally set a fire in his woods. The fire was extinguished and Brush 12 returned to quarters at 7:34 pm.

09-140 Thursday May 14th at 9:33 pm Station 19 was dispatched to a reported CO detector alarming and symptoms at 5108 Twp Road 108, Hidden Lakes Lot #939. Engine 15 responded at 9:38 pm arriving at 9:51 pm. When checking the premises, firefighters noticed that the detector was chirping indicating the battery was low. Firefighters checked the structure and found nothing. Engine 15 returned to quarters at 10:12 pm.

09-141 Friday May 15th at 7:27 am Rescue 11 was dispatched to an MVC, car vs. deer where the vehicle had driven to the Shell gas station for help. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 7:39 am. Disconnected the battery, checked out the vehicle and returned to quarters at 7:59 am.

09-142 Friday May 15th at 5:26 pm notified Chief 101 of a smoke detector alarm at 367 South Delaware Street with no fire. Chief 101 responded to the location at 5:29 pm and determined that the detector had been placed in the test mode that makes it alarm. The switch was changed to normal and the battery alarm was chirping. The occupant had new batteries so the units were removed from the ceiling and new batteries installed. The alarm was replaced on the ceiling. Chief 101 returned to home at 6:00 pm.

 

09-143 Friday May 15th at 8:25 pm Station 19 was dispatched to a possible illegal burn at 3323 Road 127. Brush 12 and Tanker 14 responded to the area and found a person burning an old shed made of aluminum and painted boards. This is a violation of the Ohio EPA burning regulations so the fire was extinguished. The owner of the property was advised of the burning laws and the units returned to quarters at 9:20 pm.

 

09-144 Friday May 15th at 10:25 pm Tanker 14 was dispatched MA with Station 49 for a structure fire at 5040 Road 31. When Station 49 personnel arrived on the scene they cancelled Tanker 14. Tanker 14 returned to quarters at 10:40 pm.

 

09-145 Saturday May 16th at 12:53 am Firefighters responded MA with Squad 1 to South Cherry Street for lifting assistance. All units arrived on the scene at 1:01 am and were released at 1:35 am.

 

09-146 Saturday May 16th at 1:56 pm Brush 12 responded to the area of 535 Marion Road for an MVC involving two vehicles. Brush 12 brought absorbent to contain the antifreeze and oil coming from the second vehicle. Units 1924, 1918 and 1937 were on the scene assisting City PD with traffic control. All units returned to quarters at 2:15 pm.

 

09-147 Sunday May 17th at 1:31 pm Brush 12 responded to the area of 830 Westview Drive for a tree across the roadway. Units 1928 and 108 removed the tree form the roadway. All units returned to quarters at 2:42 pm.

 

09-148 Sunday May 17th at 10:51 pm Rescue 11 responded to an MVC at 5580 St Rt 95 just before road 121. Firefighters found one vehicle backwards in a deep ditch with both occupants inside. Both required assistance to be removed form the vehicle to the squads. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 11:45 pm.

 

09-149 Wednesday May 20th at 2:30 am Engine 15 responded MA with First Consolidated Fire on a structure fire. Engine 15 was cancelled at 2:37 am and returned to quarters at 2:40 am.

 

09-150 Wednesday May 20th at 1:47 pm Brush 12 responded to assist Squad 1 with lifting a patient on Chartwell Street. Brush 12 arrived at 1:54 PM and returned to quarters at 2:15 pm.

 

09-151 Thursday May 21st at 9:45 am Rescue 11 responded to 5730 County Road 130 for a reported illegal burn. Rescue 11 arrived at 9:57 am and determined that he fire contained illegal materials defined by the Ohio EPA and was extinguished. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 10:45 am.

 

09-152 Friday May 22nd at 1:09 pm Rescue 11 responded MA with 1st Consolidated for a working fire at 1092 Whetstone River Road campgrounds arriving at 1:21 pm. Rescue 11’s crew operated as the RIT crew and then assisted with extinguishment. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 1:59 pm.

 

09-153 Friday May 22nd at 2:26 pm Rescue 11 and Engine 10 responded to the intersection of State Route 61 and U S Route 42 for an MVC head-on crash. Upon arrival it was determined that there were two victims entangled in the wreckage and Rescue 21 was dispatched from Cardington. Fire firefighters assisted with removing 7 victims from the vehicles and then set up a LZ at MCH for the 7 helicopters to land. A total of 7 choppers landed and transported patients to 3 different hospitals in Columbus. All equipment returned to quarters at 3:45 pm.

 

09-154 Sunday May 24th at 4:29 pm Station 19 firefighters responded MA to 301 Chartwell Street to assist squad 1 with lifting a patient. All firefighters continued to MCH to assist in removing the person from the squad. All firefighters returned to quarters at 4:46 pm.

 

09-155 Sunday May 24th at 4:46 pm Chief 101 responded to 371 South Delaware Street for a fire alarm in apartment 115 for burned toast. Chief 101 advised that the alarm had reset. Chief 101 returned home at 4:58 pm.

 

09-156 Monday May 25th at 12:43 am Station 19 firefighters responded to 100 West High Street to assist squad 1 with a full code. Firefighters returned to quarters at 1:02 am.

 

09-157 Tuesday May 26th at 12:32 pm Rescue 11 responded to 5405 County Road 115 for a strong odor of ammonia. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 12:44 pm, checked the inside of the home and outside for any odor. Finding nothing, it was felt that the odor was probably form a passing anhydrous nurse tank with a leak. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 1:03 PM.

 

09-158 Tuesday May 26th at 2:55 pm Brush 12 was dispatched MA with Station 29 for a field fire at 3471 St Rt 529. Brush 12 was cancelled at 2:57 pm.

 

09-159 Wednesday May 27th at 4:27 pm Station 19 was dispatched to a possible illegal burn at 420 West High Street. Chief 101 responded direct to the scene and determined that the fire was illegal burning treated lumber. The occupant was asked to extinguish the fire and did so immediately. Chief 101 left the scene at 4:38 pm.

 

09-160 Wednesday May 27th at 6:09 pm Station 19 was dispatched to an MVC, motorcycle crash at 6000 St Rt 95. Firefighter Kemp 19-12 was returning from work and arrived on the scene and cancelled the fire department, but keeping the squad responding to check out the patient. 19-12 left the scene at 6:30 pm.

 

09-161 Wednesday May 27th at 10:14 pm Station 19 was dispatched to a possible illegal burn at 219 West High Street in Edison. Brush 12 responded at 10:20 pm arriving on the scene at 10:24 pm. The fire was determined to be illegal and was extinguished at 10:45 pm. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 11:15 pm.

 

09-162 Friday May 29th at 6:29 am Tanker 14 responded MA with Cardington for a working garage fire at 3333 Road 166. Tanker 14 supplied a load of water for the fire and then was released at 7:40 am. Tanker 14 returned to quarters at 7:15 am.

 

09-163 Friday May 29th at 8:14 pm Station 19 was dispatched to a tree fire at 316 State Street in Edison. Brush 12 and Engine 15 responded non-emergency finding that a tree had been struck by lightning and was burning in the middle of the tree. Firefighters used foam in the tree but could not completely extinguish the fire. The mayor and street commissioner of Edison were notified and advised that he center limb should be cut out to completely extinguish the fire. They advised that they would monitor the scene for the night and the next day they would get a tree trimmer to look at the tree. Brush 12 and Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 8:24 pm and left the scene at 9:19 pm. Clean up was complete at 10:00 pm.

 

09-164 Friday May 29th at 10:36 pm Engine 15 was again dispatched to 316 State Street in Edison for the tree fire. Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 10:49 pm and worked on the tree until 12:38 am. Again they were advised to cut the center part out of the tree. Engine 15 returned to quarters at 1:05 am.

 

09-165 Saturday May 30th at 5:38 pm Rescue 11 was dispatched to a CO check at 4570 US 42. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 5:52 pm and checked the residence. There were no signs of CO in the residence. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 6:19 pm
