08-201 Wednesday July 2nd at 2:33 pm Engine 15 responded to Dogwood Lane for a fall. Squad 1 was on an emergency in Cardington, Squad 2 (Cardington) was on an emergency response, so Squad 4 responded to the scene. Engine 15 firefighters gave care to the victim until Squad 4 arrived on the scene. They assisted with moving the person from the house to the squad. Engine 15 returned to quarters at 2:58 pm.

 

08-202 Thursday July 3rd at 4:31 am Station 19 was dispatched to 3035 St Rt 95 for an alarm drop. This has been a on going problem with the alarm system with false alarms. Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 4:44 am, checked the structure and returned to quarters at 5:30 am. No fire or emergency was found.

 

08-203 Thursday July 3rd at 6:22 am Chief 101 was dispatched to 3035 St Rt 95 for another fire alarm drop. The alarm activated and the occupant reset the alarm without notifying the dispatch center that it was a false alarm. Chief 101 left the scene 6:49 am. Again no emergency was located.

08-204 Thursday July 3rd at 3:30 pm Brush 12 responded to a reported illegal burn on Neal Avenue. Upon arrival it was determined that the fire was in fat an illegal burn and was extinguished. The resident was advised of the burning laws and regulations. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 4:05 pm.

 

08-205 Thursday July 3rd at 4:18 pm Rescue 11 and Engine 15 responded to a reported MVC on I-71 at the 153 mm. Medic 1 and 9 checked I-71 to the 157 mm along with the Ohio State Patrol and could not find anything. Rescue 11 and Engine 15 staged at the Shell station until released by Medic 9. All units returned to quarters at 5:00 pm.

 

08-206 Friday July 4th at 2:12 pm firefighters investigated an odor in the Post Office. After investigating firefighters determined that he odor was caused by urethane finish that had been used earlier that day. All firefighters returned to quarters at 2:33 pm.

 

08-207 Friday July 4th at 9:03 pm Engine 15, Engine 10, Engine 50, Engine 20, Rescue 11, Tower 18, Squad 1 and Medic 9 responded to smoke in the hallway at Woodside Village in the South West wing. The actual fire was located in a closet where a water heater was located. A copper elbow had a weak spot that let go and water was spraying directly into an electrical receptacle igniting the plug and receptacle. The electric power was shut off to the receptacle, the building was aired out and water leak was shut off. The fire alarm system was reset and all units were released returning to quarters at 10:30 pm.

 

08-208 Sunday July 6th at 6:29 am Station 19 was dispatched to wires down at 5104 St Rt 42 South. Brush 12 responded along with a firefighter living close by the scene and determined that the wire was a phone line and that was hanging 3 feet above the roadway. Firefighters remained on the scene until Embarq arrived on the scene to raise the wire.

 

08-209 Sunday July 6th at 9:37 pm Brush 12 responded to 106 Short Line Street in Edison for a reported illegal fire. The fire was determined to be legal but the owner did not have a burn permit. The regulation was explained to the owner and Brush 12 returned to quarters at 10:15 pm.

 

08-210 Monday July 7th at 10:46 am Rescue 11 responded MA to Station 49 to an MVC rollover on ST Rt 19 just North of road 29 with the driver pinned-in. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 10:59 am, used the rescue spreader to open the driver to access the driver. The driver was extricated at approximately 11:04 am. Med-Flight was requested and arrives at 11:18 am and departed at 11:57 with the victim. Rescue 11 was released at 12:02 pm, returned to quarters at 12:15 pm.

 

08-211 Monday July 7th at 10:29 pm firefighters responded to 256 West High Street to assist a person locked out of their home. Firefighters entered the residence through an open upstairs window and unlocked the front door. Firefighters returned to quarters at 10:47 pm.

 

08-212 Tuesday July 8th at 5:55 pm Engine 15 responded to a report of smoke in apartment H-6 in Heritage Place at 600 Baker Street. Upon arrival on the scene at 6:00 pm found that the smoke was coming from a water heater where the lower element had shorted out and had burned. There was no damage to the structure only to the water heater. All other equipment was held on station and Engine 15 returned to quarters at 6:15 pm.

 

08-213 Wednesday July 9th at 12:02 pm Engine 15 responded to the Knights Inn arriving at 12:12 pm to prepare an LZ (Landing Zone) for Med Flight #1 to pick up a patient. Med Flight landed at 12:20 pm and lifted off at 12:29 pm. Engine 15 returned to quarters at 12:42 pm. The fire department provides the pertinent information to the helicopter pilot about the landing area. Where there are electric wires, poles, and fences, anything that could cause a landing hazard. They also relay any patient information such as weight vitals and injuries if possible.

 

08-214 Wednesday July 9th at 3:37 pm Engine 15 responded MA to Squad 1 and Medic 9 for a lady down at the South Light. Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 3:38 pm, assisted with the patient, drove the Medic Supervisor vehicle to the hospital and returned to quarters at 4:02 pm.

 

08-215 Wednesday July 9th at 6:04 pm Rescue 11 and Engine 15 responded MA with Station 39 to I-71 on an MVC involving a car and semi with the car off the highway. Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 6:15 pm and was released by A C 302 at 6:19 pm returning to quarters at 6:45 pm.

 

08-216 Thursday July 10th at 9:53 am Engine 15, Engine 10, Tower 18, Rescue 11, Engine 20, Engine 50, Squad 1 and 2 with Medic 9 were dispatched to an activated fire alarm at 3035 St Rt 95 Edison. Upon arrival it was determined that the system had malfunctioned and the alarm company was called to investigate. Engine 15 arrived on the scene and put all MA equipment on stand-by along with all MA equipment. Engine 15 returned to quarters at 10:34 am.

 

08-217 Thursday July 10th at 10:34 am Engine 15 responded to the County Jail for an odor. Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 10:38 am. Investigated the office area and could not find any CO or any odor, the oxygen level was at 21% check out OK. Engine 15 returned to quarters at 11:00 am.

 

08-218 Thursday July 10th at 7:50 pm Brush 12 responded to a reported illegal burn at 5099 C R 101. The resident did have an illegal burn, the fire was extinguished and the occupant was explained the EPA burning regulations. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 8:35 pm.

 

08-219 Thursday July 10th at 10:51 pm Station 19 was dispatched to 204 Town Street for an illegal burn reported by the City PD. Brush 12, 1916 and Chief 101 responded to find an illegal burn. The property owner extinguished the fire. The Chief explained the burn regulations and released Brush 12. All equipment and manpower returned to quarters at 11:10 pm.

 

08-220 Saturday July 12th at 5:59 am Station 19 was dispatched for an MVC at 3854 Road 110. Captain 105 arrived on the scene and advised that the victim was pinned by the vehicle. Rescue 11 responded at 6:05 am arriving on the scene at 6:08 am. Firefighters found a vehicle upside down in a deep ditch with 10” of 1water. Firefighters worked with airbags to raise the vehicle off the victim’s arm that was pinned under the roof of the vehicle. All equipment returned to quarters at 7:02 am.

08-221 Sunday July 14th at 7:01 am Brush 12 responded to Hidden Lakes to assist the squad in removing a patient from the home down some steep steps. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 8:28 am.

 

08-222 Sunday July 14th at 12:13 pm Tanker 14 responded MA with Station 59 for a vehicle fir eon I-71 at the 157 mm. Tanker 14 was released at 12:40 pm and returned to quarters at 1:12 pm.

 

08-223 Monday July 14th at 1:49 pm Engine 15 responded to 280 Park Avenue with Squad 1 to assist with a patient in the back room of the house. Firefighters assisted with the removal of the patient by carrying him around the house, down the neighbors drive and into the squad. Engine 15 followed the Squad, a firefighter drove Medic 9 vehicle to MCH where he was picked up and Engine 15 returned to quarters at 2:21 pm.

 

08-224 Monday July 14th at 3:06 pm Engine15 responded to 312 Neal Avenue for wires down across the roadway. Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 3:12 pm, investigated finding the wires were live running from the pole across the street to the house. Chief 101 had dispatch notify Ohio Edison. They arrived on the scene at 4:00 pm. Engine 15 returned to quarters at 4:07 pm.

 

08-225 Monday July 14th at 9:28 pm Station 19 was dispatched to I-71 mm 151for an MVC where a car left the highway. All equipment was put on stand-by at 9:32 and then at 9:38 pm the Ohio State Patrol cancelled all equipment.

 

08-226 Tuesday July 15th at 10:41 am Brush responded to 830 Westview Drive to investigate a reported illegal burn. Brush 12 arrived on the scene at 10:43 am. After investigating the fire, firefighters talked with the tenant and advised them of the Ohio EPA regulations and local ordinances. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 10:57 am.

 

08-227 Tuesday July 15th at 3:58 pm Engine 15 as a RIT Engine and Tanker 14 responded MA with Station 59 for a working house fire at 6662 Road 56. Station 59 equipment arrived on the scene at 4:08 pm, Engine 15 and Tanker 14 arrived on the scene at 4:10 pm. The house was fully involved so an exterior attack was conducted. Engine 15 was released at 5:07 pm and Tanker 14 was released at 7:05 pm.

All Station 19 equipment was in quarters at 7:33 pm.

08-228 Thursday July 17th at 9:46 am Station 19 was dispatched to a fire alarm at 371 South Delaware Street. Brush 12 was in the area and responded. Firefighters found that the alarm had been silenced for apartment 109 and that food had burned in a slow cooker. The occupant had set up fans and the firefighters reset the alarm system. Brush 12 left the scene at 9:54 am.

 

08-229 Saturday July 19th at 9:42 am Brush 12 responded to 41 East High Street for a flowerbed fire caused by a discarded cigarette. Brush 12 arrived on the scene at 9:44 am, extinguished the fire at 9:53 am returning to quarters at 10:05 am.

 

08-230 Saturday July 19th at 12:33 pm returned to 41 East High Street for a rekindle of the flowerbed fire. The fire was extinguished at 12:49 pm and Brush 12 returned to quarters at 1:00 pm.

 

08-231 Sunday July 20th at 12:21 am Engine 15 and Rescue 11 responded to an MVC at 4023 St Rt 61 where a person had struck a tree and was unable to exit the vehicle. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 12:31 am. And found that the victim crawled out of the vehicle window. All units returned to quarters at 1:00 am.

 

08-232 Sunday July 20th at 11:21 am Tanker 14 responded MA with Station 59 for a mobile home fire at 7117 road 59 Lot # 14. Tanker 14 was cancelled at 11:41 am returning to quarters at 12:00 pm.

 

08-233 Sunday July 20th at 12:25 pm Brush 12 responded to 92 North Delaware Street for lines down. Brush 12 arrived on the scene at 12:30 pm and determined that the wires were cable TV wires. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 12:37 pm.

 

08-234 Sunday July 20th at 4:22 pm Station 19 was dispatched MA with Station 39 for a grass fire on I-71 at mm 142. Station 19 was put on stand-by and then released at 4:31 pm. No units from Station 19 responded.

 

08-235 Sunday July 20th at 4:36 pm Station 19 was dispatched to 371 South Delaware Street for a fire alarm at Apartment 109. The occupant was cooking and set off the alarm. At 4:37 pm all equipment was cancelled. No equipment responded.

 

08-236 Sunday July 20th at 10:45 pm Rescue 11 and Engine 15 responded to 6154 St Rt 95 for an MVC with injuries MA with Station 39. Units arrived on the scene at 10:56 pm and were advised by Station 39 Assistant Chief 302 the situation was contained and St 19 equipment was released returning to quarters at 11:10 pm.

 

08-237 Sunday July 20th at 10:00 pm Engine 15 returning from the run to I-71 was dispatched to 420 North Delaware Street as first responder until a squad could arrive on the scene. Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 11:04 pm and Squad 1 arrived at 11:07 pm. Engine 15 went in service at 11:18 pm arriving in quarters at 11:20 pm.

 

08-238 Tuesday July 22nd at 1:09 am Engine 15 and Rescue 11 responded MA with Station 39 for an MVC on I-71 at mm 150. All equipment was cancelled at 1:25 am returning to quarters at 1:33 am.

 

08-239 Thursday July 22nd at 9:48 pm Engine 15 responded to a reported fire behind 527 West Marion Road the Movie Gallery. Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 9:56 pm and extinguished the fire in a small dumpster. All units returned to quarters at 10:05 pm.

 

08-240 Wednesday July 23rd at 2:32 pm Brush 12 responded to the area of St Rt 95 and C R 20 to return Medic 9’s vehicle to MCH. Brush 12 returned at 2:50 pm.

 

08-241 Wednesday July 23rd at 3:46 pm Station 19 was dispatched to 600 Douglas Street for an activated fire alarm. Chief 101 responded direct arriving on the scene at 3:47 pm reporting that the occupant had left a pan on the stove with the burner on. All equipment was dropped to a non-emergency status and continued into the scene for the report. The smoke from the pan set off the fire alarm. Engine 15 arrived on the scene 3:49 pm to file a report. All units left the scene at 3:54 pm.

 

08-242 Wednesday July 23rd at 5:47 pm Engine 15 responded to the area of 4962 C R 98 for an odor of natural gas. Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 6:06 pm, investigated the area with nothing being found. Lieutenant 107 checked with the household in the area and nothing was found. Engine 15 returned to quarters at 6:45 pm.

08-243 Thursday July 24th at 7:15 am Brush 12 and A C 103 responded MA with Squad 1 and Medic 9 for manpower to assist with a code at 5813 Road 109. Units arrived on the scene at 7:25 am. Firefighters drove Medic 1 to MCH. Fire units returned to quarters at 7:45 am.

 

08-244 Sunday July 27th at 3:48 pm Station 19 was dispatched to investigate a possible illegal burn at 1546 road 27. Brush 12 arrived on the scene 4:02 pm. While investigation a brush pile with carpet burning in the center of the pile was located. The file was extinguished and the resident was explained the Ohio EPA burning regulations. The fire was determined to be located in Station 29 area so Chief 201 was called. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 7:02 pm.

08-245 Sunday July 27th at 3:48 pm Brush 12 was dispatched to a possible illegal burn at 1546 road 27. Upon arrival Brush 12 firefighters found a brush pile with carpet burning in the center of the pile billowing black smoke. The fire was extinguished and Brush 12 returned to quarters at 4:24 pm. Fire Control was notified that this fire was actually in Cardington Township and Chief 201 should be notified.

 

08-246 Monday July 28th at 10:04 am Station 19 was dispatched MA with Station 59 for a grass fire at 6531 road 79. Squad 5 arrived on the scene before any vehicles could respond and cancelled Station 19 at 10:06 am.

 

08-247 Tuesday July 29th at 1:35 pm Engine 15 was dispatched to 371 South Delaware Street for an activated fire alarm. Engine 15 responded at 1:37 pm arriving on the scene at 1:39 pm. After checking the structure found that the occupants had reset the alarm. Checking apartment #103 the occupant didn’t know what had happened. It was determined that the occupant had used the microwave and that it had set off the alarm. Engine 15 returned to quarters at 2:00 pm.

 

08-248 Tuesday July 29th at 10:30 pm Station 19 and Station 39 were dispatched to an MVC on I-71 at mm 150.5. Rescue 11 and Engine 15 responded at 10:34 pm. OSP arrived on the scene and determined that the crash was a non-injury crash and cancelled all equipment at 10:37 pm. All equipment returned to quarters at 10:50 pm.
