09-191 Thursday July 2nd at 3:14 pm Rescue 11 and
Engine 15 responded to an MVC possible rollover on I-71 at the
150.5 mm. Rescue 11 arrived on the scene at 3:24 pm finding the
victim in the OSP car claiming non-injury. Rescue 11 disconnected
the battery and returned to quarters at 3:24 pm. Engine 15 staged
at the Shell Station at the interchange. All units returned to
quarters at 3:52 pm.
09-192 Thursday July 2nd at 11:58 pm Station 19
was dispatched automatic MA with Elm Valley Fire Department (Ashley)
to 3201 Road 225, Heartland Retreat, for a fire alarm. Firefighters
arrived on station at 12:00 am (Midnight) and were preparing
to leave when fire control was alerted that it was a smoke generator
had set off the alarm. No response was necessary. All dispatched
stations were then cancelled at 12:03 am.
09-193 Monday July 6th at 9:39 am Station 19 was
dispatched to 397 South Delaware Street, Lot #36 for a non-breather.
Rescue 11 arrived on the scene to assist Squad 1 at 9:43 am.
Firefighters assisted EMS with CPR, drove the squad and Medic
9 vehicle to the hospital and assisted with moving the patient
into the ER. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 10:33 am.
09-194 Monday July 6th at 4:22 pm Brush 12 and
Tanker 14 were dispatched MA with Station 29 for a wheat field
fire at 3465 Road 168. Brush 12 and Tanker 14 arrived on the
scene at 4:36 pm. Both units were released at 4:45 pm and returned
to quarters at 5:30 pm.
09-195 Tuesday July 7th at 5:37 pm Brush 12 responded
to 5313 Road 123 MA with Station 39 for a grass fire. Brush 12
was on the scene at 5:50 pm and was released at 6:03 pm returning
to quarters at 6:14 pm.
09-196 Wednesday July 8th at 12:02 am Station 19
firefighters were dispatched to assist squad 1 with a patient
at 700 Baker Street. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 12:06
am and were released at 12:39 am.
09-197 Wednesday July 8th at 10:45 am Rescue 11
was dispatched MA with Station 39 for an MVC on I-71 at the 147
mm. Rescue 11 staged at the co-op building until Engine 30 arrived
on the scene since the EMS units advised it was a non injury
crash. Rescue 11 was released at 10:56 am and returned to quarters
at 11:02 am.
09-198 Sunday July 12th at 6:13 pm Brush 12 and
Engine 15 were dispatched to a grass fire on I-71 at mm 153.5.
Brush 12 arrived on the scene at 6:29 pm and advised that the
fire was approximately 5 x 5 and they were in the
process of extinguishing the fire. Engine 15 returned to quarters
to make sure that personnel were in the village. Brush 12 extinguished
the fire at 6:36 pm and returned to quarters at 6:48 pm.
09-199 Monday July y13th at 8:11 am Brush 12 responded
with Medic 1 to Orchard Drive to assist in
moving a patient to the squad from the house. Brush
12 returned to quarters at 8:45 am.
09-200 Tuesday July 14th at 1:23 pm Rescue 11 was
dispatched to an MVC involving two cars at 651 Marion
Road in front of MCH West entrance. There were
no injuries and Rescue 11s crew assisted with clearing
the roadway. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 1:51 pm.
09-201 Tuesday July 14th at 9:11 pm Station 19
was dispatched to a strong odor of natural gas at 5916 Road
30. Rescue 11 responded to the area and noticed a strong odor
of natural gas. Chief 101 called the local representative from
Bright Energy and requested him to respond. Upon his arrival
he went back to the building and found that a valve had been
opened and gas was leaking from a hose used to drain the water
off the system. The valve was closed and the leak stopped. Rescue
11 returned to quarters at 9:54 pm.
09-202 Thursday July 16th at 12:19 pm Station 19
was dispatched to a possible illegal burn at 5515 Road 66.
Engine 15, Tanker 14 and Brush 12 responded to the scene at
12:21 pm finding a trash fire involving a tire, finished wood,
a mattress and an old recliner. The fire was extinguished and
the owner advised of the State EPA burning regulations. All equipment
returned to quarters at 2:00 pm.
09-203 Friday July 17th at 10:23 am Rescue 11 responded
to 600 Douglas Street for a fire alarm. Upon arrival the
crew was met by the supervisor and advised that they were testing
smoke detectors and had not called the alarm monitoring company.
They were advised that the must notify the alarm company or they
would be charged for a false alarm. Rescue 11 returned to quarters
at 10:55 am.
09-204 Friday July 17th at 1:49 pm Rescue 11 and
Engine 15 responded to I-71 mm 151 for an MVC, After OSP arrive
don the scene and cancelled all incoming equipment at 1:58 pm.
Rescue 11 and Engine 15 returned to quarters at 2:20 pm.
09-205 Friday July 17th at 8:10 pm Tower 18 was
dispatched to 3201 Twp Road 225 the Heartland Retreat for a fire
alarm. At 8:16 pm all units were cancelled by units on the scene.
Tower 18 had not responded at that time.
09-206 Sunday July 19th at 3:04 pm Tanker 14 was
dispatched to 6162 Road 22 MA with Station 59 for a grass fire.
Tanker 14 went enroute at 3:07 pm and was cancelled at 3:08 pm.
09-207 Monday July 20th at 9:02 pm Engine 15 responded
non emergency for a CO Check at 85 North Main Street. Engine
15 arrived on the scene at 9:10 pm, check the structure for CO
finding nothing. Engine 15 returned to quarters at 9:25 pm.
09-208 Tuesday July 23rd at 6:52 pm a person stopped
at the station to inquire about a possible problem at his new
home. He was concerned about a gas line his basement and wanted
a second opinion as to was the gas shut off or not. Brush 12
responded and checked the building and found nothing. The owner
was happy and Brush 12 returned to quarters at 7:14 pm.
09-209 Tuesday July 23rd at 8:41 pm Rescue 11 responded
MA with Station 39 to a reported MVC at the 149 mm of I-71. Tanker
34 arrived on the scene at 8:48 pm and advised that the MVC was
a non injury. Rescue 11 had staged at I-71 interchange, returned
to quarters at 9:02 pm.
09-210 Tuesday July 23rd at 10:52 pm Station 19
was dispatched to an MVC at 508 Grant Street with a pickup truck
into a tree. The occupant was not injured and was taken by the
City PD. Rescue 11 was cancelled by Chief 101 and returned to
quarters at 11:02 pm.
09-211 Tuesday July 23rd at Station 19 was dispatched
MA with Station 29 to a working two story garage fire at 2186
CR 24. Tanker 14 and Engine 15 responded at 11:59 pm, arriving
on the scene at 12:11 am. Tanker 14 shuttled water while Engine
15 crew assisted with fire suppression. Engine 15 and Tanker
14 were released at 1:41 am returning to quarters, finished cleaning
up at 2:20 am.
09-212 Tuesday July 23rd at 2:25 am Brush 12 was
dispatched to assist Medic 1 with lifting a patient from the
floor to the bed. Brush 12 returned to quarters at 3:00 am.
09-213 Thursday July 23rd at 1:16 pm Rescue 11
was dispatched to State Route 42 South for a lady with her finder
caught in the rollers of a folding machine. Rescue 11 arrived
on the scene at 1:21 pm and worked to extricate the ladies finger.
Her finger was removed from the machine at 1:37 pm. Rescue 11
returned to quarters at 2:18 pm.
09-214 Saturday July 25th at 11:09 am Station 19
was dispatched to assist in locating a lost 6 year old at 196
South Main Street. Rescue 11 was loaded and ready to pull out
of the station when the child was located. All equipment was
cancelled at 11:13 am.
09-215 Saturday July 25th at 9:50 pm Station 19
was dispatched to 192 North Vine Street for a smoking light switch.
The switch when switched to off lowered the lights to half power
and would get warm and smoke. Firefighters disconnected the wiring
and checked the attic for any possible smoke or problem. Rescue
11 returned to quarters at 10:20 pm.
09-216 Sunday July 26th at 5:04 pm Station 19 was
dispatched to 142 North Main Street for and MVC, car into a pole.
Lieutenant 108 arrived on the scene at 5:06 pm and cancelled
Rescue 11. Later Rescue 11 was requested to return to the scene
to check out the vehicle. Rescue 11 returned to quarters at 5:40
pm.
09-217 Sunday July 26th at 9:32 pm Rescue 11 was
dispatched to 2399 State Route 95 West for a motorcycle and deer
MVC. Rescue 11 responded at 9:36 pm and was cancelled by Squad
1 and Medic 9 at 9:40 pm returning to quarters at 10:00 pm.
09-218 Tuesday July 28th at 1:33 pm Rescue 11 responded
to an fire alarm at 371 South Delaware Street Apartment 111.
Upon arrival it was found that food had burned on the stove setting
off the alarm. The alarm was reset and Rescue 11 returned to
quarters at 1:50 pm.
09-219 Wednesday July 29th at 9:25 am Rescue 11
and Engine 15 were dispatched MA with Station 39 for an MVC on
I-71 mm 147 north bound. All units were cancelled by MCEMS since
the vehicle just drove off the road, no crash. All units returned
to quarters at 9:45 am.
09-220 Friday July 31st at 3:22 pm Rescue 11 responded
to an activated fire alarm at 30 South Main Street at the Christian
Book Store. Firefighters searched the building and the second
floor finding no fire or smoke. Firefighters removed the detector
and cleared it out. It was determined that the work on the second
caused dust and vapors that had set off the detector. Rescue
11 returned to quarters at 3L42 pm.
